Students at Accrington and Rossendale College are celebrating another exceptional Results Day, with 99% technical education and 98% T Level pass rates, and BTEC learners achieving an extraordinary 95% High Grades.

The results build on Accrington and Rossendale College’s (ARC) exceptional track record, with the college ranked Number 1 nationally for vocational progress.*

Learners also achieved a 100% pass rate across a significant number of T Level and Level 3 Technical Education courses, including Engineering & Manufacturing, Business, Sports Coaching & Development, Exercise Science, Media, Education & Early Years, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Health, Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction and more

Students are now moving on to exciting next steps, progressing to leading universities, securing highly sought-after apprenticeships and beginning rewarding careers.

The results follow a landmark year for ARC and East Lancashire Learning Group (ELLG), which was officially confirmed as the Number 1 FE College in the country in the latest national achievement rate tables (NARTs).

ELLG brings together Nelson and Colne College, Accrington and Rossendale College, Lancashire Adult Learning, East Lancashire UC and East Lancashire Apprenticeships, providing education and training for thousands of learners across the region.

Principal and CEO Lisa O’Loughlin, CBE said:

“These results are a fantastic achievement and reflect the ambition and hard work of our students, supported every step of the way by outstanding teachers who genuinely want every young person to succeed.

“At Accrington and Rossendale College, we have incredibly high expectations for our students. We want them to achieve the very best grades they can and go further than they thought possible – whether that means securing an apprenticeship with a leading employer, starting a rewarding career or progressing to university.”

“That is why being Number 1 in the country for Vocational progress means so much to us. It shows the difference our teachers and the wider college community make in helping young people achieve more than they may have thought possible.”

The latest results build on more than two decades of excellence. ELLG is the only college group in the country to have maintained an Ofsted Outstanding rating for more than 20 consecutive years and is ranked the Number 1 FE College in the country.

Accrington and Rossendale College recently announced an incredible £3.3 million investment to transform its construction training facilities. This reflects the continued commitment to excellence in creating industry-standard learning environments available to students on campus including cutting-edge Digital and Health facilities.

Lisa added:

“All of our students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved but it is especially remarkable to see our BTEC learners achieving 95% High Grades, and shows just how important technical education facilities are for success. We are delighted to be continuing to invest in these facilities for our students and our staff. Results like these reflect their hard work, determination and ambition, supported by teachers and staff who know them, believe in what they can achieve and are committed to helping them go further than they thought possible.

“Today is about celebrating our students and everything they have achieved but also looking ahead to what comes next. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and excited to see where their next steps take them and how much more we can achieve together at Accrington and Rossendale College.”
