Sundown Solutions, the Hyndburn-based tech consultancy, are proud to give back to the communities around them, supporting many charities and grassroots sports clubs as part of their ongoing commitment to CSR. One charity they have a long-established commitment to is Age Concern Central Lancashire, with both CEO Heath Groves and COO Kelly-Ann Groves being Patrons of the charity.
Recently the charity held a black-tie Charity Ball in the glamorous surroundings of Barton Manor Hotel, in Preston. In addition to dinner, dancing, and a magic mirror, there was also a fantastic charity auction with stellar prizes donated from Malmaison Hotels, the Hotel du Vin Bristol, the Pullman Liverpool, and Preston North End amongst others.
Stuart Buchanan, Chief Automation Officer at Sundown Solutions, was delighted to attend the glitzy ball – and be the successful bidder for a beautiful hand built rocking horse. He commented, “Age Concern Central Lancashire provides a wonderful service and I was happy to support them in any way I can. My father-in-law accesses the services at Charnley Fold Enhanced Day Support on an ongoing weekly basis, and we really appreciate everything they do for him.
He really enjoys the activities at Charnley Fold and enjoys the company of the others using the daycare services. Although he does find it to be a tiring long day when he attends, he however fondly refers to the place as “The Pub” but I am pretty sure the hardest drink they are drinking is a cup of Tetley’s finest black tea!
It’s such a great cause, and I hope they raised a good amount of money on the night, we were happy to contribute. The rocking horse is wonderful, and a very generous donation, I will make sure it has a good home!”
