NLTG (North Lancs Training Group), the award-winning local education provider, has launched a campaign to help young people aged 16-18 into work as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted across England.

Established in 1969, NLTG is one of the largest independent training providers in the country.  NLTG’s courses which are completely free, are tailored to meet the needs of students aged 16-18 who are not ready, or able, to directly enter an Apprenticeship, employment or other post 16 alternative.  Learners are supported to develop employability skills to meet the needs of local employers and undertake a high-quality work placement as part of their course.  Learners also receive a weekly bursary, plus free breakfast and lunch.

As COVID-19 restrictions led to many employers being unable to offer work placements, the lifting of restrictions now means learners will have enhanced opportunities to learn and gain skills within the workplace.

Flyers are going through the doors of every household in Hyndburn, encouraging people to get in touch to take up this great opportunity and to get this generation into education and work.

Nationally recognised qualifications are available in English, Maths and Employability Skills as part of the courses, which may lead to further study with NLTG in diverse areas such as Digital Marketing, Digital Support, Hospitality & Catering, Furniture Occupations and Business Administration, amongst others. These lead to real jobs in the local area and can be life-changing for learners.

Gareth Lindsay, Managing Director of NLTG said, “It’s important, now more than ever that young people aged 16-18 are helped and supported into education or work. The COVID-19 restrictions led to many young people missing out on opportunities. We provide training and reskilling to support these young people into work and have success stories to prove it works. Sometimes young people just need support and the opportunity to get started – we work with local businesses to make sure this happens. If you know of anyone who needs our help, we urge you to call us today!”
